Healthcare should be a human right, but it isn't -at least not in the United States. Healthcare should not be an industry, but will continue to be until we take it out of the hands of private insurers. 

No one should suffer or die because they can't afford health insurance, but this is the reality many Californians face because of the inadequate, unaffordable, and for-profit healthcare model in place. 

There is no reason why the state with the highest GDP in the nation with the highest GDP in the world cannot afford  healthcare for everyone.

I fully support and will continue to fight for single-payer, universal healthcare in the State of California. 

Healthcare is a Human Right.

Alleviating homelessness is an important, intersectional issue that disproportionately affects BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ people, and 40% of homeless youth are LGBTQIA+.  

As your California State Senator, I will work to effectively and compassionately address homelessness in LA County and across the State of California.  This means decriminalizing poverty. We must build more permanent, supportive housing and emergency shelters, and end the cycle of homelessness through a compassionate, housing-and-services-first approach. 

There is no reason why the state with the highest GDP in the nation with the highest GDP in the world cannot afford to house everyone.

Housing is a Human Right.

Many of our public schools are setting our students up for failure without the proper tools and funding, and our teachers aren't paid nearly enough. 

Although we have many of the best higher-education institutions in the world, they are often out of financial reach for many people.

College tuition is unaffordable for too many Californians.

There is no reason why the state with the highest GDP in the nation with the highest GDP in the world cannot afford to educate everyone.

I support free state college for everyone in California. 

Education is a Human Right.

Environmental Justice is the only path forward.  Americans have undoubtedly benefitted from the very sources that are causing irreversible, adverse effects on our climate and environment. 

Now is the crucial time to take action, and further reason to elect grassroots officials who do not have corporate ties to pollution-inducing industries.  Radically just programs such as the Green New Deal can and will positively affect climate change while addressing economic inequities and racial injustice.

As we saw during the LA Fires in January 2025, we are all vulnerable to the catastrophic risk of fires. When elected, I will support legislative action to prevent and prepare for fires, as well as preestablish relief funds for victims of widespread fires.

I pledge to vote against bills that would allow for new oil or gas leases for on or offshore drilling.

I pledge to support measures that would invest in renewable and sustainable energy, and against corporate subsidies for the fossil fuel industry. 

Environmental Justice is a Human Right.

As a trans non-binary person, I am fully committed to defending and advocating for all LGBTQIA+ people. While the federal government continues to attack the LGBTQIA+ Community, particularly transgender people, it is more important than ever to guarantee protections and full, societal inclusion for transgender individuals in California. 

During my four terms as an elected official serving on the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council, I have been a fiercely proactive advocate for our LGBTQIA+ Community. In 2024, I authored the "Resolution to Declare Silver Lake a Safe Haven Neighborhood for Transgender Individuals and to Request LA City Council Take Action to Protect All Transgender Individuals Seeking Gender-Affirming Healthcare in Los Angeles." The resolution passed unanimously.

There has never been a trans representative elected to the California State Legislature. How we can we trust that our elected officials are representing us when we aren't even included in the conversation? Representation matters. 

When elected, I pledge to advance legislation to secure $100,000,000 for trans healthcare amidst federal funding and Medicaid cuts.

LGBTQIA+ Rights are Human Rights.

Black Lives Matter. 

The protests following the murder of George Floyd shed light on what many people have known to be true in the United States, that it is plagued with institutional racism, particularly in the field of law enforcement. 

Black people are disproportionately murdered by police and are disproportionately represented in both prison populations and unhoused populations. 

Police brutality must have consequences. I support defunding the police, reducing the scope of police duties,  reducing incarceration, ending for-profit prisons, reallocating funding for services in Communities of Color, and I support reparations for communities and individuals harmed by institutional racism.  

Racial Justice is a Human Right.

I am pro-choice. No one should decide the fate of a person's health except for the person in question. This is especially true when the laws dictating our behavior are mandated by a government that is overwhelmingly male. This speaks to the inequity of feminine representation in all levels of government and to the restriction of people to advocate for their bodies and their selves . 

I advocate for a pro-choice government, and will fight to keep California a pro-choice state.

Reproductive Rights are Human Rights.

As a supporter of the Constitution, I support the right to bear arms, but not without restriction. 

There are more guns in America than people, and not coincidentally, the United States is one of the leading nations in the world when it comes to death by guns. We are also one of the few constitutional sovereignties in the world that guarantees the right to bear arms. 

We live in a different world than when we established our Constitution and thus need to reconsider how we interpret the Second Amendment. There needs to be greater emphasis on background checks and restrictions on obtaining firearms capable of mass destruction.

I support a ban on assault weapons.

As a Jewish person, I know that anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism. "Never Again" means never again for anyone. 

I demand the release of all hostages, call for an immediate ceasefire, and I condemn the disproportionate military actions of the State of Israel that have killed more than 50,000 Palestinians, including thousands of Palestinian children. 

I support a Statewide Ceasefire Resolution.

Apartheid, genocide, ethnic cleansing, and collective punishment are inexcusable anywhere. 

I unequivocally condemn anti-Semitism and Islamophobia everywhere.

"The Rent is Too Damn High!"

Part of alleviating homelessness involves keeping housed people housed. Rents are soaring while wages are stagnant and inflation continues to weaken the US Dollar. 

As a renter myself, I support strengthening tenant and renters' rights to keep people housed. Rent caps and rent freezes are essential during times of economic uncertainty. 

In Los Angeles and beyond, there is no reason why some multi-dwelling buildings should be rent-controlled but not others. Our outdated rent stabilization ordinances must be updated.

Did you know that there are more vacant units in LA County than there are people experiencing homelessness? In 2023, LA County had approximately 225,000 vacant housing units compared to approximately 75,000 unhoused residents. 

I support a Vacancy Tax to support efforts to house people and keep them housed.

I support the effort for Statewide Rent Control in California.

As a candidate who is for the people, I’m pro-union and pro-labor rights. 

Our State must value the economic security of its workers over corporate greed. I believe since unions protect the workers, our government must uplift and protect unions. It is the right of workers to bargain, strike, and organize. I’m against right-to-work legislation which makes it harder for workers to form unions.

 We must strengthen workers' rights to strike for workplace improvements and  protect workers from being retaliated against for exercising their rights.

I believe corporations that practice union-busting should be fined and the State of California should not do business with corporations where workers do not have union protections. 

ICE has destroyed families and communities. It is beyond hypocritical for a nation established and built by immigrants to deny immigrants a fair opportunity for citizenship, and in many cases, simply sanctuary in the United States. 

 Families and children are being held in cages by our current government officials. We cannot and will not tolerate this. This is unjust, inhumane, and antithetical to American values.  We need to abolish our current detention system and ICE, and restore dignity to all humans seeking to come to the United States. 

I support the State of California as a sanctuary state for undocumented immigrants.

I condemn the wall built by the United States along our shared border with Mexico.

I condemn the migrant detention centers in operation in the U.S.

I condemn ICE.

Disability rights are civil rights that intersect with healthcare justice, housing justice, education justice, environmental justice, LGBTQIA+ rights, and racial justice. 

Universal healthcare is instrumental for guaranteeing the rights of people with disabilities. Folks should be able to make their own healthcare decisions, and not be impeded by the for-profit healthcare industry. 

I support the protection and expansion of Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income programs. Disability and accessibility considerations must be made in every public setting including healthcare, housing, schools, and public spaces. 

Disability Rights are Human Rights.

On par with Economic Equity is instituting a Universal Basic Income to ensure families and individuals are not poverty-stricken. 

Too many people in California are living paycheck-to-paycheck and struggling to afford basic necessities like healthcare, housing, education, and groceries. No one should have to worry about how they will pay for food this month. 

I support a Universal Basic Income for all Californians with an opt-out option for those who feel financially secure.  

It's time to legalize "the oldest profession." 

Self and bodily autonomy includes the authority to self-determine if one wants to engage in sex work.

Decriminalizing sex work and removing the stigma will reduce STI infections, reduce human trafficking, and increase the livelihoods of those who choose to engage in such line of work. 

Decriminalizing sex work will particularly and positively impact LGBTQIA+ folks who are more likely to be underemployed and unemployed due to discrimination.

I support Decriminalizing Sex Work and Protections for Sex Workers.

The federal minimum wage has not been raised since 2009.

WHO can survive on $7.25/hour?

California is fortunately ahead of the nation when it comes to minimum wage, but $16.50 is still not a livable wage.

The minimum wage in the City of Los Angeles is $17.87/hour, and yet the livable wage is $28.88/hour.

I support state legislation that would keep the minimum wage on par with livable wages statewide.

Many Millennial and Gen Z families want to have or already have children, but worry how they will be able to afford childcare in a society that increasingly requires a two-income household, on top of rising costs of living and stagnant wages. Regardless of whether or not we want to have children, they are our future,  and we must support policies that benefit children and working families.

I support Universal Child Care & Pre-K to relieve the economic stress of raising children. 

We must get with the times. 

In 2023, we know there are medical benefits to weed and mushrooms. 

There is no reason why anyone should be incarcerated for weed or mushrooms while folks in certain states can legally buy them at regulated stores.

Not only should we legalize them, we should expunge the records of those currently and previously incarcerated for weed and mushrooms.
