Maebe Pudlo is the decidedly progressive candidate for California's 26th Senate District, and is dedicated to leading the necessary fight to KEEP FASCISM OUT OF CALIFORNIA. She is committed to working on behalf of Los Angeles and the entire population within the State of California -especially in partnership and solidarity with our most vulnerable, disenfranchised, and underrepresented neighbors.
Their primary policies include, but are not limited to: Universal Healthcare, Housing for All, Education for All, Environmental Justice, Racial Justice, LGBTQIA+ Rights, Immigrant Rights, Reproductive Rights, Tenants' Rights, and Alleviating Homelessness.
Maebe is ardently community-focused and believes in the power of people. We need to get big money out of politics, put people over profit, and take control of our own communities and autonomy.
When elected to CA State Senate, the first piece of legislation Maebe will introduce, sponsor, or cosponsor is Cal Care to ensure everybody in California is guaranteed the human right of single-payer, universal healthcare, without the burden of interfering insurance companies or corporate influence. Everyone deserves the human right of healthcare.
Maebe is currently serving as Treasurer and At-Large Representative for the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council in Los Angeles, CA. Upon her election in 2019, she became the first drag queen elected to public office in the United States. In 2022, they became the first openly trans-nonbinary person to advance to a general election for a seat in U.S. Congress where she earned the support of more than 60,000 voters.
Maebe was responsible for forming the Silver Lake LGBTQIA Advocates Committee -the first queer-focused committee in the Los Angeles Neighborhood Council system. She also co-founded the LGBTQ+ Alliance of Los Angeles Neighborhood Councils, which was recognized as the first city-backed initiative for the LGBTQ+ Community in the City of Los Angeles.
She authored and voted for the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council Ceasefire Resolution for Silver Lake, which passed in 2024, and in 2025 she authored and voted for a Resolution to Declare Silver Lake a Safe Haven Neighborhood for Trans People, which also passed (unanimously) in light of an increasingly tumultuous political climate.
On the committee level, Maebe serves as Co-Chair of the Budget & Finance Committee, Co-Chair of the Reimagining Public Safety Committee, and Co-Chair of the Ad-Hoc Committee on Housing and Homelessness for the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council.
Maebe is trans non-binary, and her pronouns are she/her/they/them. Professionally, she works as the Operations Manager for SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition. She hosts, produces and performs in drag shows around Los Angeles in addition to her SLNC and SELAH duties.
